Sometimes called Elephant garlic, this bulb is actually a leek. Whatever you call it, it’s enormous cloves are so mild they can be sliced straight into salads and stir fries. Worth growing for its mauve flower balls alone.
A mild, sweet flavour somewhere between garlic, leek and onion. Can be eaten raw, sliced into salads, steamed or boiled as a vegetable. Can be cooked like onions in soups, stews, casseroles, or bake in oven with roasts.
